Three Defense Verdicts in Life Insurance Sales Practice Cases

I served as lead trial counsel for insurance companies in three cases involving allegations that the insurance company and its agents fraudulently sold an individual a life insurance policy with a guarantee that the premiums on the policies would vanish after a certain number of years. At one time some people thought that these types of cases were not winnable from the defense side. Our defense teams worked very hard to identify winning trial strategies, including conducting multiple focus group studies to test trial themes and arguments.
